Hey, I'm writing for you live from Kenya!

The discrepancy between what we think we know about distant realities and the actual self-perception of people on the ground is especially visible to me in this time of 'global crisis'.

I experience assumptions, wishful thinking and superimpositions as quite a natural part of dialogues 'about' cultures, in Europe about Africa and vice versa.

Njoki creates contributions by talking not only 'about' but 'with' people, by living and working with them, and allowing to mirror each other's imprints with humor and respect. Every opinion has its origin and every origin has its truth. My concern as a liaison between these truths is to give gentle impulses for rethinking the 'foreign' and 'other' and thus to be an invitation to recognize exchange as a chance for a more flexible and connected "being in the world".
